As a teen, Karen wore out all of her Brazilian albums. Jobim, Gilberto, Sergio Mendes. Forming
Bossa Jazz has enabled her to sing the songs she loves. Co-founder of She Rock She Rock, home of the Girls Rock n Roll Retreat, she has been instrumental in empowering women and girls through the art of music. She has an undergrad in business and a doctorate in psychology.
Craig Gustafson
Lead Guitar
In 2003 Craig formed The KGB Band playing less common blues such as Dylan's  "Everything is Broken" and Tinsley Ellis tunes. Today he plays guitar with Bossa Jazz. and KGB. His artistic endeavors are not limited to music. A designer, he specializes in retail environments. He also travels to Europe to photograph familiar landmarks and back areas that capture day-to-day life.
Scott Gregory
Drums
Before drumming for Bossa Jazz and KGB bands Scott played with the Options, a big hair 80's cover band. Yet back in the day he honed his chops playing with David Sandborn. Today he earns his living as an IO Psychologist specializing in leadership assessment and development. Scott holds a doctorate in IO Psychology. 
Karen Pieper
Keyboard
Karen has taught jazz piano at MacPhail for over 26 years. Today she is the Music Director at All Saints Lutheran Church. Her theater credits include Music Director for Dudley Riggs' Brave New Workshop, Illusion Theater, Stepping Stone Theater, Theater de la June Lune. She has also improvised music for dozens of silent movies at the Oak Street Cinema and Walker At Center. 
Nils Westdal
Bass
Nils is a composer, musician, and producer. Uprooted form the Bay area, he quickly became known as the freshest bass player on the scene, working with cats like Jack McDuff, and tearing up the club funk business with his in-the-picket prowess. He has released five CDs, three with music collaborator John Keston. Nils' Blog.
